DYSLEXIA THERAPIST TRAINING PROGRAMS

We provide high-quality training for certified educators and therapists dedicated to supporting

students with dyslexia. In collaboration with the curriculum of Scottish Rite For Children, our training programs offer evidence-based strategies to help struggling readers succeed. Explore our upcoming opportunities to advance your expertise.

All upcoming trainings will take place at the Dyslexia School of Houston Training Center and Lab School located at 9409 Katy Freeway, Houston, TX 77024.

BRIDGES Training

Dates: June 9 – 20, 2025

Overview: A ten-day training that empowers certified teachers to deliver dyslexia intervention using an innovative teacher-avatar-student model. If your district does not have enough therapists, BRIDGES: A Dyslexia Intervention connecting Teacher, Avatar and Student is your solution. BRIDGES can be taught by any certified teacher after 10 days of training.

Cost & Materials:

  • Registration:
    • 1 teacher – $1,820
    • 2-10 teachers – $1,570 each
    • 11+ teachers – $1,320 each
    • (+$300 annual license fee)
  • Materials:
    • Student Books 1-7 ($20 each) = $140 per individual

Take Flight Retraining

Dates: June 23 – 27, 2025

Overview: A five-day intensive program designed for Certified Academic Language Therapists (CALTs) who want to advance their skills and become Take Flight Therapists. Participants will receive specialized training and resources to refine their dyslexia intervention techniques.

Cost & Materials:

  • Registration: $200 per individual
  • Materials Year 1: $802.23
  • Materials Year 2: $240.35

Take Flight Training 

Dates: July 7 – 25, 2025

Overview: A comprehensive two-year training program for educators seeking certification as Take Flight Therapists. This research-based dyslexia intervention program begins with a three-week session in the first summer, providing a strong foundation in structured literacy instruction.

  • Registration: $900 per individual
  • Materials Year 1: $802.23
  • Materials Year 2: $240.35
