SUMMER LITERACY CAMP

Get a head start for the next academic school year with Dyslexia School of Houston’s 2024 Summer Literacy Camp! Our personalized teaching sessions include four, 45 minute rotations, “camps,” to help your student conquer spelling, composition, grammar, cursive writing, reading and more. Our 6:1 student/teacher ratio ensures your child is receiving the educational support they need. This year’s Summer Literacy Camp will be held from June 3 – June 28, 2024. ROTATION 1 - DYSGRAPHIA CAMP

45 MINUTES

ROTATION 2 - GRAMMAR CAMP

45 MINUTES

  • Students will be introduced to the parts of speech in the order they need to be taught.
  • Know the parts of speech and their usage.
  • Encourage written expression.

ROTATION 3 - CURSIVE WRITING CAMP

45 MINUTES

  • Students will learn scientific spelling through multi-sensory approach strokes, muscle memory, gross motor skills.
  • Handwriting without tears.
  • Writing with purpose.

ROTATION 4 - GUIDED READING/COMPREHENSION CAMP

45 MINUTES

  • Students will learn to use a variety of informative and narrative texts.
  • Developing metacognitive strategies with focus on 5-WH questions.
  • Increase fluency
